Manuscript Found in Accra: Paulo Coelho

A collection of wisdom from conversations in Jerusalem in 1099. The kind of book you can open to any page and find something meaningful. It reflects life’s cycles—letting go, change, and how nothing is ever truly lost. For my fourth read-through, I’m pairing with tarot: exploring life’s lessons and themes, adding a deeper meaning.

The Hundred Years' War on Palestine: Rashid Khalidi

The cruelty in Gaza is rooted in a century of colonialism, dehumanization, and displacement.

From the Balfour Declaration in 1917 to the forced expulsions of Palestinians in 1948 and subsequent occupations—The resilience of Palestinians, despite relentless bombing and oppression, challenges the narrative of ownership and occupation. History shows that what is happening today is a result of decades of foreign intervention and exploitation, with Palestinians suffering as a consequence.

Lobbying

Lobbying often involves corporations or interest groups using financial influence—through donations, gifts, or campaign contributions—to persuade politicians to pass or block legislation that benefits them, even if it goes against the public’s best interests.

Rather than viewing the political system as a battle between left and right, it’s more accurate to see it as a matter of class—those with power and wealth against those without. The political arena isn’t designed to serve the people; it's a game where we’re nothing more than chess pieces, moved and sacrificed as needed to maintain control. Our actual lives, struggles, and well-being are not taken into account—only how we fit into their broader strategy at any given moment.

Many times, lobbying impacts the most vulnerable.

  • private prisons

    Updated February 3, 2025:
    Published January 24, 2025:
Private prisons, like GEO Group and CoreCivic, profit from mass incarceration, immigrant detention, and forced labor. These corporations lobby for harsher sentencing laws and strict immigration policies to keep beds filled and revenue flowing. Inmates, including those fighting wildfires in California, are often paid pennies per hour, with wages heavily deducted for fees. Many companies along with ICE raids contribute to making incarceration a billion-dollar industry that prioritizes profit over justice and continues to rip families apart.

I’m breaking down how free speech is being manipulated—from administration to the other —The TikTok ban is just one example of how power is used to control the narrative and suppress anything that doesn’t fit the agenda. When money and influence dictate who gets to speak and what stories get told, our freedom to share the truth is at risk. This isn’t about safety—it’s about control.
